Free Computer Consultant's Tip-Of-The-Week e-Zine for October 12, 2007
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Staying focused.

That's one of the number one keys to success in life. It's one I
struggle with.

My very line of work as a responder to computer crisis makes it
difficult to stay focused.

The change of pace of technology makes it tough to stay focused.

How about you?

Sit down to work at the computer and some hardware or software
malfunctions - and you lose focus.

How many times do you open your web browser to look something up or
complete a task of some kind, only to be distracted by what's on the
home page of Yahoo!, MSN or your other favorite portal? And then
close your browser forgetting to do what you needed to, or forgetting
what it was you were going to do?

Here's a suggestion: Make Google your homepage. Plain. Simple. Boring.

But if you absolutely MUST have something on that homepage, choose
iGoogle in the upper right corner.

With iGoogle you can choose how much distraction is on your homepage.
You can even select items of value like a To-Do List and Sticky Note
to help you stay focused on the projects at hand.

I suggest avoiding the news gadgets, get Garfield of the day instead.
At least that only distracts you once per day.

Stay focused. Succeed in life.

P.S. - Thanks to all who bought my new eBook. If you haven't checked
it out yet, please do.
