USB Flash Drives are everywhere; prices are coming down, capacities are going up.
Some small businesses entire backup strategy is using USB Flash Drives. Unfortunately, what may be a backup strategy is a far cry from a disaster recovery plan... but I digress.
I've been encouraging my clients to be careful what data they drop onto a USB stick and then treat casually. What if that data ends up in the wrong hands?
Well a few companies have some convenient solutions for that. It's not unbeatable encryption, but it's at least as good as a strong door with a good lock.
Corsair has a Flash Padlock 2.0 drive that automatically locks in 15 seconds after you remove it from your computer. It has a keypad right on the drive to let you unlock it.

Pretty cool.
Lexar has a Jumpdrive Secure Plus that has software built in to let you create a vault of whatever size you want on the drive and prompt you for a password and drive letter when you access it. Probably a bit more secure than the Flash Padlock.

But if you are all about pictures and not security, maybe you want to look at the Sandisk Extreme III SD Camera disk which comes the the full version of Sandisk data recovery software for when you accidentally delete some pics from either the camera or the disk when working with it on your PC.

When you subtract the value of the Sandisk Rescue Pro software, it makes the USB Flash Drive essentially free!

Data recovery for pictures is a big topic around holiday time, so I thought I would throw that in.
