Free Computer Consultant Tip-Of-The-Week for June 13, 2008

This week I want to give you another tip to protect yourself against
a potential future Windows problem.

Not a lot of folks are aware of the System Restore Point in
Windows XP.

Restore points take a snapshot of the system and save it to an
area of the drive reserved for that purpose.

Not 2 hours later it saved my client some bacon.

A user was cleaning up a workstation drive and inadvertently
deleted a whole bunch of system shortcuts. Took out most of the
start menu.

Fortunately I had installed some software just before that which
had created a restore point both before and after the installation.

I restored to the restore point after the installation and voila,
everything was just fine.

So I guessed I had better quick do a video on how to restore back
