Epson Isn't Going To Cheat Me Anymore
======================================
First, regarding Online Backup that I talked about last
week:
For those of you who tried the Online Backup free
trials:
http://www.freecomputerconsultant.com/go/mozy-free-trial/?id=n
http://www.freecomputerconsultant.com/go/carbonite-free-trial/?id=n
You found that these free trials don't even require a credit
card!
But second, if you liked Mozy Online Backup, you can
use Code JANUARY for 10% off annual and biannual
services.

Now, about Epson.
I have an Epson R380 ink jet printer that we use to print
photos, CD
and DVD covers, etc., along with other special projects.
It really galls me that the cartridges hold so little and
cost so
much. Sure, you can use the refill services, but that's only
a
little better.
We were using the "high capacity" cartridges available
through the
Epson store and a FEW other outlets. A better deal, but not by
much.
But I have found the answer!
Continuous Ink Supply System is a kit that sells for $43 on
eBay,
shipping included, that will replace those stupid little
expensive
cartridges with a high capacity external "tank" that will
bring
down the cost of color printing likely by a factor of 10.
Ever print out photos and find that as 1 cartridge runs low
the
quality of the photos gradually degrades, ruining 5 to 10
photo
stock (at about $0.20 a piece) before you catch it and stop
the
printing?
The continuous ink system eliminates that because you not
only will
need to refill hardly ever, but you can easily see visually
when one
or more colors are running low.
The downside of this system is that it takes about 7 minutes
to install
(video included and also on eBay to view before you buy) and
the
ink system sits OUTSIDE the printer.
Doesn't take up much room, though, and it is pretty neat and
tidy.
The link for the system is here, but you will have to search
for
your specific printer if not an Epson like mine.

Check it out if you print very much color with an ink
jet.
You won't feel cheated anymore buying those silly little
cartridges
that hold about a thimble full of ink.
Until next time...
