"Is There An Upgrade In Your Future?"
I have recently written a little about the new Windows
7.
If you are currently using Windows XP, then you may want to
know
that you cannot directly upgrade from Windows XP to Windows
7.
I believe that is a good thing. I despise a Windows upgrade.
Clean
install is the way to go, albeit, more trouble.
You may also wish to note, if you are planning a computer
purchase
soon, that free upgrades to Windows 7 will be included
with purchases after June 26...
When an upgrade (and I don't mean an in-place upgrade) comes
your
way, you will thank yourself for 2 things, if you have done
them.
1.) Keep a log of what is installed and uninstalled on your
PC.
2.) Continuously be on the lookout for something you have
installed
that you do not use that you can uninstall.
When it comes to Windows, less is more and more is less.
The
more stuff installed the less the performance. Remember the
talk
on registry bloat and speed?
Registry Mechanic gets positive reviews

Note even the little things like preference changes you
make; you
will likely want to make them again.
This is one of the reasons that web based software, like
Google apps and LastPass, are becoming more popular. Not
just
portability among PC's, but when you change PC's.
When you do find it time to upgrade, be sure and seek my
help
BEFORE you buy; not much I can do after.
