You too can start a business from home

Everyone wants to make money online; well, almost everyone. A recent study indicated that 70% of Americans want to start a business of their own, and most want it to be at least partially based online.

And I get these questions ALL THE TIME.

They've read the ad copy:

• "let the cash register ring while you sleep"
• "I open my inbox every morning and find money there"
• "I'm sitting on my deck working in my underwear"
• ... ad nauseum

Well, the truth is, you CAN earn money online. In fact, I recommend it!

What I DON'T want you to believe is that you can make money online without effort, or quickly. Unless, of course, you're selling a program to tell others how to Get Rich Quick (GRQ).

I am here to give you the guidance you need to get started. And I will focus on what DOES work.

Let's start with the EASIEST way to earn money online.

Can you spell eBay? To some, this actually sounds kind of trite, but believe me it isn't. eBay has raised their fees plenty over the last year or so, but it's still the easiest way to get started and earn money online. If for some reason eBay scares you, perhaps your community has a local online auction, mine does. It's sponsored by a local media company that owns both newspapers and an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

How about your own website?

Fantastic! If you can carry on a conversation, you can write content for a website. The key is to determine what the site will be about. Usually, it's something that you have extensive knowledge in or perhaps already have an offline business doing. Something you have a great passion for is an excellent candidate for a blog or website also.

The you usually start out is by selling products that you use personally, and can write about the use of. The companies who sell these products and services are always looking for "affiliates", just like you, to help them make sales. That let's them concentrate on creating their products and services.
