"A Wireless Network will let me do what I want, where I want, when I want" - everyone I know
The whole world wants wireless. Many of them don't know why, they just know they want it. Others are making continuous use of them. There are many reasons to want wireless networks in your home, office and everywhere else:
- Connect a Desktop PC with WiFi in a room difficult to run a wire to
- Patio, sofa and everywhere else online access with laptop or PDA
- Media Extenders, working in conjunction with Windows Media Center
- Bluetooth Skype phones, cordless and wanderable
- Extend your home network to a garage or other outbuilding, maybe even a trusted neighbor!

Special Alert!
Danger! Is your city or neighborhood a community WiFi hotspot? Are you trying to network to other PC's of your own through this wireless network? Don't even think about it! We'll talk about why a little bit later.
Hot tip: Turn off your wireless card when not in use. There is already one exploit out there that can allow a hacker to take control of your PC if you don't have Microsoft Patch MS06-036 applied. One never knows when the next vulnerability will show up. Keeping the connection off except when needed adds yet another layer of security.

That said, there are naturally many good reasons to free yourself from the wires. And when there is, do it, but do it right - with my help, of course!
