Computer Backup Success Story

The topic of Computer Backup has so many Horror Stories that I thought I should share a success story with you.

Yes, Virginia, some people really do backup!

A friend of mine emailed me that he was having some PC problems and everything pointed to the hard drive going bad. He tried several repair options, but it kept getting worse until finally he got the error message "NTLDR missing" on a black screen. The good news is that he took computer backup seriously and has been backing up with Acronis True Image regularly.

Because he had been backing up, he wasn't even in a panic!

So, are you ready for the steps he had to take to go from completely dead PC to fully functioning one?
Here they are:

Drive over and get a new hard drive from me
Replace hard drive in computer
Boot from Acronis True Image rescue CD
Restore most recent image
Reboot

Wow, was that easy or what? Protecting your data doesn't have to be painful and the rewards can be awesome!

This guy was a believer before, but he's practically an evangelist now.

And me? I feel great. It's not very often things turn out this well because, quite frankly, most people I run into are kind of lazy. They take their PC for granted, then scream REAL LOUD when it fails. And most of them don't even learn from a bad experience.
